Call of Duty: Mobile Season 11 'Anniversary' unleashed a celebratory Battle Pass, lightning-fast Fennec SMG, Advanced UAV, and the King map.

I still remember the electric buzz that rippled through the community when Season 11 of Call of Duty: Mobile was officially named "The Anniversary." After months of Wild West shootouts, radioactive hunts, and metallic forges, the game that had redefined mobile shooters was celebrating its first year with a bang – and I was right at the center of the action. The season dropped on October 15th, 2020, and from the moment I logged in, it felt like an entirely new game had landed in my pocket. Every menu tab held a surprise, every match offered fresh chaos, and the anniversary events made logging in every day feel like a holiday.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the Battle Pass. The premium pass was packed with exclusive operators and weapon blueprints that screamed "anniversary celebration." I unlocked an Epic soldier that looked like a tactical ghost from a futuristic battlefield, and alongside it came vibrant Epic weapon blueprints that turned ordinary assault rifles into works of art. The prize I still show off today, though, is the new Legendary Calling Card – it had an animated shine that made it the envy of every lobby I joined.

But what truly changed the pace of my close-quarter engagements was the introduction of the Fennec submachine gun. This little beast was a bullet hose with insane fire rate and recoil that kicked like a mule. The first time I slapped on the dual-wield attachment, I felt unstoppable rushing through Shipment. However, the hip-fire spread meant I had to learn entirely new engagement distances. Fennec became my go-to for domination on Rust and Cage, where every corner could erupt in a spray of lead.

The sky became a lot more dangerous too, thanks to the Advanced UAV scorestreak. I vividly recall the first enemy dropped one of those in a 10v10 Team Deathmatch – suddenly the entire enemy team’s direction was revealed in real time, arrows moving like ants on the minimap. It turned the tide of every Hardpoint and Domination game I played. My strategy instantly shifted: I started farming assist points and running Hardline just to get that edge.

Season 11 also brought the iconic Gunfight map King into the mobile arena. The symmetrical layout with its raised central platform and side containers made every round a chess match. I loved hopping onto the perch at spawn for those long sightlines down the flanks, but I also learned the hard way how easily you could be flanked through the three walkways cutting through the middle. It was a map that rewarded quick thinking and punished camping, and I still use it as a warm-up arena before hitting ranked.

Speaking of ranked, Series 7 rolled out with some of the meatiest rewards I had seen. The Kilo Bolt-Action – Dealer blueprint was a sleek, wood-finished marksman rifle that I grinded hard to earn. The Epic soldier T.E.D.D. – "Where To Sir?" became my permanent operator, and the Steeled Frame plus the High Roller Calling Card completed a set that made my profile look like I meant business. Climbing the ranks felt less punishing too, because the new system reduced point loss for lower ranks and introduced bonus points for winning streaks – a change that kept me motivated late into the night.

Then came Halloween, and with it the limited-time Cranked mode. I remember the sheer panic of that first match on Crossfire: get a kill, and a timer starts ticking; fail to get another before it hits zero, and you explode. The adrenaline spike made every second feel critical. I learned to chain kills on Crash and Shipment, using the increased movement speed from the cranked effect to run circles around disoriented enemies. The mode returned alongside the spooky Standoff-Halloween map, and the Attack of the Undead event, where survivors and undead both gained scaling damage and health boosts – a chaotic pendulum that made every session unpredictable.

As a Battle Royale player, I was thrilled with the changes that dropped. The Purifier operator skill arrived in the BR map, letting me spray liquid fire at close range – a high-risk, high-reward option that could wipe squads. The Sleuth mod became a staple in my custom loadout, pinging enemy locations every five seconds after I landed a shot. But the biggest quality-of-life improvement for me was the new loot settings: being able to define how many armor plates I auto-picked saved precious seconds during hot drops. The airdrop icon also got a smart update, staying hollow until every item was taken, which stopped me from running toward a picked-over crate. Vehicle driving felt smoother, and the automatic obstacle avoidance saved me from many an embarrassingly stuck chopper.

The Gunsmith deepened with new attachments and sweeping balance adjustments. The 5.45 Caliber Ammo for the AK-47 cranked up the fire rate for aggressive play, while the Large Caliber Ammo on the HVK30 turned it into a mid-range headshot machine. I spent hours in training mode finding the perfect mix. Below is a quick rundown of the weapon balancing that reshaped the meta I remember:

  • 🚀 QQ9 – Increased damage with 10mm 30-Round Reload

  • 🎯 FHJ – Can now fire without lock-on; slightly smaller explosion

  • 💣 SMRS – Slightly bigger explosion radius

  • 🗡️ Shadow Blade – Slower movement and attack speed

  • 🔥 Annihilator – Lower fire rate, recharge and duration; but easier lock-on

  • ⚡ War Machine – Faster fire rate, better bullet velocity; ammo becomes Ballistic Expert

  • 🛡️ Transform Shield – Replaced flash with continuous damaging microwave radiation

  • 🔥 Thermite – Sticks to enemies and devices, increased damage range

  • 🚫 Trophy System – Smaller defense range

  • 💡 Flashbang/Concussion/EMP – Improved effect range

  • 👂 Alert perk – Reduced perception distance

  • 🍸 Molotov – Smaller initial explosion range

My sniper play improved overnight when they fixed the breath shake issue and reduced recoil across the board. I could finally hold angles without my crosshair bouncing like a jackhammer. The new dying poses and optimized prone-to-sprint animations made movement feel more fluid, and the hip-fire reticle now scaled with accuracy stats – a tiny tweak that massively helped my run-and-gun SMG builds.

Ranked multiplayer got a welcome overhaul. The MVP-when-defeated stat showed up, and joining mid-match became rarer because of better optimizations. Penalties for quitting increased, which made games feel more competitive. On the BR side, rank rewards finally felt substantial, with Epic skins and exclusive charms marking my climb to Legendary multiple times over.

Looking back from 2026, Season 11: The Anniversary was the moment COD Mobile truly matured. It wasn’t just a content drop; it was a comprehensive polish of every corner of the game. Whether I was detonating as a Cranked maniac, shredding with the Fennec, or calling in a game-breaking Advanced UAV, every session felt epic. If I could go back to October 2020 and re-live just one season, it would be this one – no hesitation. The Anniversary season didn’t just celebrate a year of Call of Duty on mobile; it set a standard that every subsequent season tried to match.
