Call of Duty Mobile Season 1: New Order packed a 50-tier Battle Pass, Reclaim map, 3v3 Gunfight, and Blitz—an unforgettable CODM season.

It's 2026, and I still get nostalgic about Call of Duty Mobile's Season 1: New Order. It launched on January 1, 2021, at 4 pm PT, and it was the first season of that year. A New Year meant starting over from Season 1, and New Order was the perfect name for a reset. I remember logging in, seeing the fresh Battle Pass, and thinking: this is how you kick off a year. Even now, after countless seasons, events, and meta shifts, New Order remains one of my favorite CODM moments.

The Battle Pass Was Packed

The headline was a brand-new Battle Pass with 50 tiers of free and Premium rewards. As a player, I always appreciate when the free track gives something useful, and this one mixed characters, new weapons, Blueprints, charms, and more. It wasn't just filler. The Premium track felt like a treasure chest, and the free track had enough to keep me grinding. I remember unlocking a new weapon and immediately taking it into Reclaim to test it out. 🎁

Reclaim: A Mall Made for Mayhem

New Order added an original map called Reclaim. Christmas may have been over, but the festive season lived on in this map, kind of. Reclaim takes place in the remains of a dilapidated shopping complex. You fight through boutique stores, and the layout creates tight, chaotic gunfights. I loved how the map told a story without saying a word. Broken windows, abandoned shops, and narrow lanes made every corner a potential ambush. The festive decorations were a nice touch too, like the holiday season refused to leave. In 2026, I still think Reclaim deserves a remaster or at least a permanent spot in the rotation.

New Modes, Bigger Chaos

The season also introduced new game modes called 3v3 Gunfight and 20-Player Attack of the Undead. These were expanded versions of existing variants, and they brought a greater sense of action. On the flip side, there was a new Battle Royale mode called Blitz, which featured 40 players in a faster-paced match that lasted a little over ten minutes. Here's how I'd break them down:

Mode What it is Why I liked it
3v3 Gunfight A tighter, expanded Gunfight variant Fast rounds, pure gunskill, no room for excuses
20-Player Attack of the Undead A bigger undead survival showdown Chaotic fun with more players and more panic
Blitz (Battle Royale) 40 players, faster-paced, about 10 minutes Perfect for a quick match when I didn't want a long BR

3v3 Gunfight forced me to communicate with my teammates. 20-Player Attack of the Undead was pure chaos, and Blitz was my go-to when I wanted a quick Battle Royale fix without committing to a full match.

The Fight for Humanity

Later in the season, there was an event called The Fight for Humanity. You had to choose between the Atlas or Cordis faction before completing a series of tasks to win territories. There were various milestone and leaderboard prizes on offer for those who performed well. I remember picking a side and grinding tasks with my squad, checking the map to see which territories we could flip. Atlas versus Cordis felt like a real rivalry, and it gave the season a sense of progression beyond the Battle Pass.

Why New Order Still Matters in 2026

In 2026, Call of Duty Mobile is a different beast. Seasons are bigger, crossovers are wilder, and the Battle Pass system has evolved. But New Order set a blueprint. It proved that a new year could feel like a true reset, not just a cosmetic refresh. The mix of a new map, expanded modes, a fast Battle Royale option, and a faction event gave players like me plenty to do. It also showed that free-to-play content could be generous and exciting at the same time. In 2026, I appreciate that even more.

Call of Duty Mobile is still available on the App Store and Google Play. It's free-to-play with in-app purchases. If you're on the lookout for more action-packed multiplayer games for your phone, there are plenty of lists out there, but for me, CODM remains the benchmark. And when I think about the best season openers, New Order is still near the top.

So, yeah, New Order is old news in 2026. But as a player, I still measure new seasons against it. It had a map that felt alive, modes that pushed chaos, and a Battle Pass that respected my time. That's a New Year's resolution I can get behind.
