In 2026, Call of Duty: Mobile has moved through plenty of seasons, crossovers, and meta shifts. Still, fans who enjoy looking back at standout collaborations often bring up Season 7: New Vision City. This was the August 2022 season that paired CODM with GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045, and it launched on August 3 at 5 PM PT. The pitch was simple and bold: post-humans were approaching, Operators had to stop them, and Battle Royale was getting a neon-soaked cyber city makeover. For 2026 readers, the key context is that this is a retrospective, not a current 2026 seasonal drop; the season itself belongs to the 2022 CODM timeline.

So, what made Season 7 stand out? Plenty. The season arrived with a new 50-Tier Battle Pass, a new weapon, a new Operator Skill, a signature attachment, and a Battle Royale takeover built around the Netflix series. It was a busy package, and it gave players several different reasons to jump between Multiplayer and Battle Royale.

🎟️ The New Vision City Battle Pass

The Battle Pass was the headline for many players. It offered free and premium rewards, including Operators, Weapon Blueprints, Calling Cards, Charms, COD Points, and more. The free track was not just filler, either. At Tier 14, players could unlock the new Claw Operator Skill, a firearm that used ricochet ballistic rounds and a rapid-fire, five-shot spread. At Tier 21 came the Switchblade X9 SMG, a foldable weapon known for its compact design. Other free rewards included a variety of camos and Weapon Blueprints, with the Arcane Slayer Calling Card waiting at Tier 50.

The premium track leaned hard into the collaboration. Players could earn GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045-inspired Operator Skins such as Blackjack — Elite, Stryker — Interface, and Battery — EVE-III. The ultimate prize was Motoko herself. Premium rewards also included stylized Weapon Blueprints for the Kilo 141, Arctic .50, Shorty, and the new Switchblade X9.

🌃 Battle Royale: Enter New Vision City

Battle Royale got the most dramatic transformation. GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045 brought a futuristic cyber city to Battle Royale, located around Nuketown on Isolated. Players could enter a sphere to transport into a nighttime setting filled with neon lights, high-rises, crossing tracks, and a central plaza. It was a strong visual change of pace, and it gave the map a very different mood.

The collaboration also added new systems that changed how matches played out.

  • New revive mechanic: Instead of retrieving dog tags to revive fallen teammates, players had to collect their ghosts. These ghosts appeared where a teammate was eliminated, and collecting one began the reprinting process to bring that player back into the game.

  • PVE enemies: New AI robots and mechanical dogs infiltrated Isolated. Players could fight these PVE enemies and collect their parts, then exchange those parts for a Cyberware enhancement at the Redeem Facility.

  • Cyberware enhancements: Operators could install one of four enhancements during a Battle Royale match. The Cyberbrain Drone allowed players to connect to external terminals and control a microdrone for scanning and hacking hostile targets. The Ocular System exposed nearby enemies and displayed their stats. Cyberbody Limbs granted improved physical power and a transformed right arm for an aerial melee attack. The Neuro Systems optimized precision and targeting abilities.

That mix of PVE combat, new revival rules, and Cyberware choices gave Battle Royale a more layered feel. It was not just a cosmetic crossover; the season tried to change how players approached fights, revives, and map control.

🕵️ Togusa’s Survey and Seasonal Challenges

The themed event was called Togusa’s Survey. Players helped Togusa prepare for the final post-human battle by restoring downed communications, aiding allies, and locating the position of the post-human threat. Progress came from playing Multiplayer and Battle Royale matches, and players could also encounter yellow nodes that triggered unique Battle Royale missions. The Post-Human Report tracked the event’s progress throughout, and players who completed all event challenges before the report closed could redeem the final reward. A Training Guide also offered demonstrations of each Cyberware ability, which was useful for anyone who wanted to experiment with all four.

Season 7 also brought new Seasonal Challenges with rewards such as new Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and up to 30,000 Battle Pass XP. A new signature attachment for the ASM10 could be unlocked during the season as well. An event collection page gathered all of the GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045 events into one space, making it easier for players to keep track of what was live.

🛒 Store Content and Lucky Draws

The store side of the collaboration was just as ambitious. A new drop featured an Epic Motoko Operator Skin and her Epic SMG Weapon Blueprint, alongside items such as the MW11 — Field Officer Weapon Blueprint, new skins for the Echo Grenade and Rally Car, a Charm, an Emote, and more. The think tank Tachikoma Vehicle also arrived as part of the Battle Royale Draw. On top of that, new Lucky Draws offered Legendary Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins that fit the Ghost in the Shell narrative, including Hidora Kai — Shogun and Sparrowhawk.

🧠 Why It Still Stands Out in 2026

Looking back from 2026, Season 7: New Vision City is best remembered as a crossover that touched nearly every part of CODM. It had a Battle Pass with a strong free track, a Battle Royale location with a distinct identity, a revive mechanic that flipped familiar habits, PVE enemies, Cyberware abilities, themed events, and a deep store lineup. Fans of the collaboration could find Motoko, Tachikoma, cyberpunk visuals, and sci-fi gadgets all in one season. It was not a small event, and that is exactly why players still bring it up when they talk about memorable CODM crossovers.
